After years of representing clients in court, I have become convinced that Collaborative Law is the appropriate way to resolve family disputes. As difficult and painful as family relationships can get, people have the right to a respectful process to find a solution.

I have been active in promoting Collaborative Law as a practitioner and as a board member of the Collaborative Law Association of the Rochester Area. I have helped conduct trainings in Collaborative Law for attorneys, mental health professionals, financial professionals and mediators across New York State. I presented on the topic of "Collaborative Law and Restorative Justice" at the 2008 Symposium of the International Academy of Collaborative Practitioners in New Orleans.

In addition to my Collaborative Law practice, I have been active in a number of community activities over the years, including Family Services of Rochester, Pittsford Youth Services and Perinton Youth Hockey. Currently, I am on the board of the Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence and I am active in Partners in Restorative Initiatives, Inc., a Restorative Justice group which is active in developing a program to establish the principals of Restorative Justice in the local courts system.
